About SNCI
Neurochemistry is one of the most rapidly advancing areas of sciences which is multidisciplinary by nature. Neurochemistry attempts to draw the functioning of the most complex “device” the human brain! Emerging neuroscientists of modern world, including developing countries like India face a high level of challenge in teaching and understanding due to lack of proper training and updates. With this back ground the Society for Neurochemistry, India (SNCI) started way back in 1979, as University of Hyderabad, Hyderabad as its Headquarters.
Society for Neurochemistry (SNCI) is a registered scientific body in Hyderabad. The SNCI promotes neurochemistry by organizing conferences and workshops at different Universities/ institutes across India. These workshops/schools are directed to train young students in the basic techniques in neurochemistry/ neuroscience. The society inducts neuroscientists as life members and relevant information is sent to them from time to time. The SNCI organizes its annual meetings in different parts of the country. During annual meetings, young students are given Dr. G.M. Taori memorial award, CIIMS, Nagpur and Suven Life Sciences award, Pharma Industry, Hyderabad for the best oral presenter and best poster with a token of cash prize and a certificate. Further, the society also felicitates doyens of the neurochemistry/ neuroscience with a life time achievement award.
